Everyone is talking about the color trend balayage and it is impossible to imagine life without it. The widely celebrated and popular free-hand coloring technique is perfect for all hair beauties who love blended, natural looking highlights.

What is balayage hair?

The term balayage is taken from the French word „balayer “, meaning to sweep. It’s a term that best describes the way the color is applied. Balayage highlights are painted onto strands of hair using a brush. This creates a soft effect at the top of the strands and results in more gradual, natural-looking highlights. Benefit: The regrowth line is diffused and you can go longer in between salon visits. The different color gradients of this technique not only create a natural look but also create the illusion of more volume. The so-called Babylights also give you a sun-kissed look. From Ombré to Balayage to Money Piece Hair:

Before the megatrend balayage emerged, it was the color trend ombré that influenced the hair world for a long time. In contrast to the freehand technique, the hairline and part of the lengths are left dark and the tips are lightened in a clear contrast to the hairline. But as the demand for more natural, less contrasting looks became stronger, the balayage trend arose. This has now been around for a few years and the mega color trend has developed into smaller variations that essentially contain the balayage technique. One of them is called “Money Piece Hair” - the color update for your hair.

This hair trend was set to become a big one when Beyonce debuted this look in one of her shows in June 2019, with a caramel-hued highlight on her front. From then on, all fashionistas were crazy about the highlighting technique. But what is Money Piece?

It is nothing more than a new hair coloring technique for creating face-framing highlights. The name Money Piece Hair does not refer to the look or the coloring technique but on the price and effort required to obtain it. The highlights are created quickly and cheaply.
